U7 Playing U8 Dispensation (AUS)

Q: How does the Rugby Australia U7 Playing U8 Dispensation procedure work in Rugby Xplorer?

The Rugby Australia starting policy position is that a player may play in the age group he/she is turning in the relevant calendar year and in the age group one year above, this procedure provides a process for players turning 7 in a calendar year (and therefore in U7 non-contact age grade) to potentially play in the U8 (contact) age grade as per the Rugby Australia Participation Policy.

Player Submitting U7 Playing U8 Dispensation Consent Form

U7 Playing U8 Consent Forms can be submitted via an individual’s Rugby Xplorer Portal, when they have registered as a player in the current season.

  1. Rugby Xplorer https://myaccount.rugbyxplorer.com.au/ (available on phone web browser)
  2. Click ‘Consent Form’
  3. Click ‘U7 Playing U8 Dispensation’
  4. Select the player you are completing the consent form (if multiple players are all linked, all consent forms will appear for selection)
  5. Read the consent form, select ‘Play up 1 year’, select game format, select your registered club and click checkbox to accept
  6. Click “Submit”
  7. The same game format and same club can only be submitted once. Participants can submit multiple dispensations for different game formats at the same club. These requests will be sent to your club admins for review.

Note

  • This consent form will only appear if the player will be 7 at the end of this year.

Club Admin

  • The consent form is sent to your Club for review.
    • If approved, it will be sent to your competition manager for review.
    • If declined, the process stops and the player is only eligible to participate in Get into Rugby.

Association Admin 

The comp manager will need to review the submission. 

  1. Members > Member Assessments & Consent Forms
  2. All member assessments will appear with a status of ‘in progress’ or ‘completed’
    • In progress > association admin needs to review the request
    • Completed > association admin has reviewed the request
  3. Comp manager to add dispensations, as required, against the player’s record in Member Management.
