Front Row Dispensation (AUS)

Q: How does the Rugby Australia Front Row (Schedule B) Dispensation procedure work in Rugby Xplorer?
  • Participants can only request Front Row (Schedule B) Dispensation once registered as a player.
  • ‘Front Row (Schedule B)’ will display for all eligible participants.

Player Submitting Front Row Dispensation

Front Row Consent Forms can be submitted via an individual’s Rugby Xplorer Portal, when they have registered as a player in the current season.

  1. Rugby Xplorer Portal > Consent Forms
  2. Click ‘Front Row (Schedule B) Dispensation’
  3. Select the player you are completing the consent form for (if multiple players are all linked, all eligible participants will appear for selection), click “Submit”
  4. Select Registered Club
  5. Answer the questions- number of years played in front row, level of rugby played, did you play in the front row last year, did you miss any games due to injury and list any injuries
  6. Click “Submit”
  7. The same game format and same club can only be submitted once. Participants can submit multiple dispensations for different game formats at the same club. These requests will be sent to your club admins for review.

Note

  • If a player submits the Front Row (Schedule B) Dispensation form, they cannot be selected in the positions of LHP (Loose Head Prop), H (Hooker) or THP (Tight Head Prop) in the Rugby Match Day app until they have been assessed and they are approved to play in the front row.
  • An error appears saying “This player cannot be selected in this position without an approved Front Row Schedule B dispensation.”

Club Admin

  • The consent form is sent to your Club for review.
    • If approved, it will be sent to your competition manager to assign an assessing coach who will arrange a time for the assessment.
    • If declined, the process stops.

Association Admin

  • Association admins will receive an email notification for assessment once club admins have reviewed Front Row (Schedule B) Dispensation consent forms.
  • Association admins can track the status of consent forms and if they have been approved by club admins.
  • Once the Association admin assigns the assessing coach and strength & conditioning coach (who is registered to your association) to the consent form the coaches receive an email notification with a link to complete the assessment.

Note

  • Association admins can assign the assessing coach for players turning 17 years old.
  • state admin will need to assign the assessing coach for players turning 16 years old.

Association admins can view all consent forms (stored against a member’s record).

  1. Association admin > Members > Member Assessments & Consent Forms
  2. All member assessments will appear, ensure Type = Front Row
  3. Consent Status = Approved, Status = In Progress
  4. Two assessing coaches are required- Assessing Coach and Strength & Conditioning Coach.
