Selecting your Team List
Q: How do I, as a 'team admin', add players and officials to my team list in Rugby Match Day App?
Note
- You must have 'Team Admin' or 'Scoring Admin' user permissions and for your competition to be published before you can select your team in Rugby Match Day App.
- Club Admins are not automatically Team Admins. This is because Clubs may have many teams and most Club Admins do not want and/or need access to all their teams.
- Dispensations, Member Assessments & Consent Forms
- If a player has a pending/in progress member assessment, they will also be blocked from being added to the team list.
- Once their member assessment is marked as 'completed' and if they have the approved dispensation added to their member record they can be added on the team list.
Club Admins must
- Grant the relevant team managers with 'team admin' user permissions via Administration > User Management.
- Add players and non-players into the squad for them to appear for selection in the Rugby Match Day app via Members > Squad Management.
- Registered non-players may require additional roles added to their record that are not registration roles, e.g. assistant coach, ground marshal and/or assistant referee and these are to be added via Members > Non-Player Management.
Selecting your Team List
- Open Rugby Match Day App
- Click “Team Lists” tab
- The 'Current' match will stay at the top of the list, with matches are displayed in date and time order, until midnight of the day of the fixture.
- Previous rounds and/or matches with the date in the past will drop to the bottom of the list.
- Click your team's shield in the match
- The previous match’s team list will pre-populate for players and non-playing members, with any suspended and/or excluded players and non-players whose accreditation has expired automatically removed.
- Team list cannot be edited for matches marked as 'Final'.
- Matches marked as ‘forfeit’ will not allow team list submissions.
- Adding player = click ‘Manage Players’
- Select Player from dropdown list
- Select Position from dropdown list
- Shirt number will default to the position number, however this field is editable
- Select Captain, Vice-Captain and/or Front Row for the relevant players
- Click “Add”
Note for Players
- When adding new players to the team, a dynamic list of positions not already selected on team list will display.
- Jersey numbers can be edited as required in the text box. However, two players cannot have the same jersey number.
- Positions can be edited as required using the drop down. However, two players cannot be selected in the same position.
- The positions listed will be determined by your competition's setup, e.g. 15-a-side will show 15 players and substitutions while 7-a-side will show 7 players and substitutions.
- As you remove and add players, they will automatically sort in position order in the list.
- Once one player is selected as captain/vice-captain, the subsequent players will not be defaulted to captain as well. You can add as many captains/vice-captains as you like.
- Players that have been excluded and/or suspended cannot be added to the team list and will receive the following message "This player is not available to be selected on a team list, due to [Blue Card (Concussion)/Red Card]."
- Front row players can be identified as Front Row (FR) trained by clicking the button.
- There is no limit to how many front row players you can have on your team list.
- New Zealand Premier competitions have minimum requirements for Front Row players and their trained position (LHP, H or THP).
- Players who are outside of the eligible ages and have registered for a rugby event and have been added to their squad, may receive an error 'This player does not have a dispensation on their member record'.
- If a player has a pending/in progress member assessment, they will also be blocked from being added to the team list.
- Once their member assessment is marked as 'completed' and they have the approved dispensation added to their member record they can be added on the team list.
- Adding team officials = click ‘Manage Team Officials’

- There is a maximum of 3 members that can be added into each team official role. However, one member can be added into multiple roles.
- Mandatory team official roles, as determined by your team's competition, will appear at the top in bold. These roles must be added to the team list in order for the team list to be submitted and saved.
- Click “Submit”
- Click "Confirm", or "Cancel" to go back and edit
