Combined Teams
Q: How can competitions handle combined/merged/joint venture teams?
- For combined teams, we recommend that Competition Managers allocate the team to the Club with the most players into the competition. The players from the other club(s) will need to apply for clearance and register to the other club allocated with the team.
- The team name can be updated to show it is a combined/'barbarians’ team as required.
- The player(s) and/or team official(s) that need to register to the second club will be asked to request a clearance through the online self-registration process.
- Registered Player tries to register with secondary club but is stopped and needs to submit a clearance request with reason.
- Clearance notifications are sent to player, primary and secondary club, and parent organisation admins.
- Clearance needs to be approved by club and parent organisation admin in Rugby Xplorer admin portal.
- Members > Registration Clearances
- All clearances will appear. Admin can ‘search’ for a clearance by name, player ID and/or status of clearance (e.g. pending)
- Click on clearance needing action.
- Clearance details (submitted by the player) are locked.
- Update Status by selecting ‘status’ and enter ‘note’ as required.
- Click “Update”
- Once clearance has been approved by both club and parent organisation admins player receives email for approved clearance.
- Player then needs to continue registering online with the new club. This time they will be able to proceed through the registration process.
- Conversions will apply where applicable however, club fee will need to be paid in full.
- More information on applying for clearance is available in the Applying for Domestic Clearance article .
Note
- If a clearance is 'denied', the player will be unable to re-register online and need to re-submit a clearance request, if applicable.
- Both clubs, both parent organisations and the Player will receive clearance notifications throughout the clearance process.
